  GriefShare: Surviving the Holidays” is a helpful, encouraging seminar for people facing the holidays after a loved one’s death. The seminar will be held on Sunday, November 10, 3:30-5:30pm in the Christian Life Center of Elizabeth Baptist Church. There is no charge for this event, and refreshments will be served. Childcare will not be available. The seminar features practical suggestions and reassurance through video interviews with counselors, grief experts and other people who have experienced the holidays after their loved one’s death. Topics to be discussed include “Why the Holidays are Tough,” “What to Expect,” “How to Prepare,” “How to Manage Relationships and Holiday Socials” and “Using the Holidays to Help You Heal.” Those who attend will receive a free book with over 30 daily readings providing additional insights and ideas on holiday survival. Special guest speaker for Saturday service is former pastor, Rev. Larry Burns, who now serves at Mulberry Baptist Church, Charlotte, NC. Special guest speaker for Sunday service is Rev. Steve Parker, who serves at Zion Baptist Church, Morganton, NC. Rev. JR Robbins and the congregation invite all visitors, friends, past members to join them for this special time of Celebration. All proceeds will go to Jackie Brown, a Cleveland County resident who underwent a double lung transplant recently, to assist with ongoing medical costs. Cars, trucks, and bikes welcome, with a special Die Cast category for the kids. Hot dog plates, crafts, games and more. Something for everyone!
