Friendship United Methodist Church, Fallston
       Friendship United Methodist Church invites children to Kingdom Kids, a Wednesday night children’s ministry. Bring your child for Bible lessons, music and lots of fun. Shelby First Assembly, Shelby
   Shelby First Assembly will hold a FREE Family Fun Day on Saturday, September 3, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The day includes: Bounce House, dunk tank, cotton candy, hamburgers, hot dogs and a whole lot of fun! Please join them for a day filled with fun games and prizes. This will be a great day for the entire family. There will be a cornhole tournament to raise money for Crossroads Ministries & Crisis Pregnancy Center. Buffalo Baptist Church, Shelby
   A BBQ and Bake Sale fundraiser will be held for Buffalo Baptist Church building fund. Buffalo’s famous butts will be available for Labor Day Weekend! There will also be fresh baked goods and home canned goods. Pickup is September 3, 2011, 10:00 am-3:00 pm;  Tickets: Boston Butts: $35.00; Plates: Adults $8.00; Child’s $5.00. Friendship UMC Community Meal, Fallston
  Friendship United Methodist will have their monthly community meal on Thursday, September 8th from 5:30 until 6:30 pm. The meal is served in the basement. Elizabeth Baptist Church, Shelby
   Elizabeth Baptist Church, 301 N. Post Road, Shelby, NC is hosting The Living Proof Live simulcast with Beth Moore and Travis Cottrell on September 10, 2011. The doors will open at 9 am and the simulcast will begin at 10:30. Lunch will be on your own from 12:30 - 2:00 and the simulcast will conclude at 5:15 pm.     Elizabeth Baptist Church of Shelby will sponsor a 3rd Annual HymnFest, A Celebration of God’s Goodness with a focus on the hymns of Fanny Crosby on Saturday, September 3, 2011 The Foothills Dulcimer Club and Elizabeth Baptist Church’s Music Ministry would like to invite everyone to a time of singing, playing, sharing, and celebrating the hymns of Fanny Crosby! Most of us could probably sing from memory the first verse of several of Fanny’s hymns such as “Blessed Assurance,” “To God Be the Glory,” and “Praise Him!    The Lewis Tradition of Lincolnton, Georgia and the Golden Valley Crusaders will be in concert at Concord Baptist Church on old Hwy 74 in Bostic, N.C. on Saturday - Sept. 10th at 7:00 p.m. No admission - a love offering will be taken at the singing.. This full day conference will feature a variety of speakers on topics related to caring for a person with Alzheimer’s or related dementia. Community resources will be available to answer questions and offer information. Target audience includes family caregivers, professional
caregiver, faith community members and anyone interested in learning more about the disease. Cost $10 per person.
