Sheriff Alan Norman Assists Churches in Preparing for Emergencies
The Sheriff's Office has developed a plan to assist churches in preparing for an emergency should one arise in the church. It is our hope that this plan would give church members a basic knowledge of what to do in the event of an emergency and how to protect lives in the case that a situation arises within the church. Sheriff Alan Norman says, "We are living in a dangerous time in our history. Unfortunately, we are at the point where people are taking violence into the House of God. Together, through awareness, education, and action, we can minimize vulnerabilities and ensure the protection of our houses of worship and its congregants." If any church is interested in having a presentation given to their church or the leadership of the church, please contact Captain Joel Shores at 704-476-3053 or joel.shores@clevelandcounty.com.
