Elizabeth Baptist Church, 301 N. Post Road, Shelby, NC is hosting The Living Proof Live simulcast with Beth Moore and Travis Cottrell on September 10, 2011. The doors will open at 9 am and the simulcast will begin at 10:30. Lunch will be on your own from 12:30 - 2:00 and the simulcast will conclude at 5:15 pm. Elizabeth Baptist Church of Shelby will sponsor a 3rd Annual HymnFest, A Celebration of God’s Goodness with a focus on the hymns of Fanny Crosby on Saturday, September 3, 2011 The Foothills Dulcimer Club and Elizabeth Baptist Church’s Music Ministry would like to invite everyone to a time of singing, playing, sharing, and celebrating the hymns of Fanny Crosby! Most of us could probably sing from memory the first verse of several of Fanny’s hymns such as “Blessed Assurance,” “To God Be the Glory,” and “Praise Him! This full day conference will feature a variety of speakers on topics related to caring for a person with Alzheimer’s or related dementia. Community resources will be available to answer questions and offer information. Target audience includes family caregivers, professional
caregiver, faith community members and anyone interested in learning more about the disease. Cost $10 per person.

Joyful Sound, North Greenville University’s Baptist Student Union Ensemble, will present a concert Sunday, September 18, 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Kings Mountain.The public is invited. There are three Joyful Sound ensembles. Each presents approximately 80 concerts per academic year. The typical concert includes contemporary and traditional Christian music.

The youth of Flint Hill Baptist Church will sponsor a Golf Tournament at Woodbridge Golf Course on Saturday, September 24 with an 8:30 shotgun start. Entry fee is $60.00 per preson which includes lunch. There’ll be trophies presented in two flights, mulligans, hole sponsorships, closest to the longest drives, gift bags and drawings for prizes.
