| Gaffney -- Arthur Dean (Cosmo) Upchurch, Sr., 82, of 1084 Bonner Road, Gaffney , passed away Saturday, October 6th, 2012 at Peachtree Centre.
Born in Gaffney , Mr. Upchurch was the husband of the late Moree Jeanette Sutton Upchurch and the son of the late James Robert Upchurch and Bettie Beatrice Scates Upchurch. He worked as a carpenter and was of the Baptist Faith .
Mr. Upchurch is survived by three sons, David Upchurch, Bill Upchurch, and Arthur Dean Upchurch, Jr. of Gaffney; three daughters, Brenda Lee Eubanks and Sybil Beatrice McAbee of Gaffney and Kathy Sue Whiteside of Duncan; step-sons Roger Moore of Gaffney, A. C. Moore of New York, Charles Moore of Blacksburg; one sister, Betty Ligon of York; one brother, Pete Upchurch of Gaffney; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Upchurch; one step-daughter, Pat Norman; brothers, J. N. Upchurch, Andrew Upchurch, and A. B. Upchurch; and sisters Margaret Upchurch, Mimi Mimms, and Nell Lanier.
The family will receive friends Monday, October 8th, 2012 from 7:00pm - 8:30pm at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 9th, at 2:00pm at Gordon Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Randy McCraw officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Gaffney.
The family will be at the residence of Ken and Brenda Eubanks at 205 Beaver Ridge Road, Gaffney, SC.
