Arthur Dennis Hamrick, 70, of 1650 Union Church Road, Lawndale, died
Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby.
Born August 13, 1943 in Cleveland County, to the late Graham Washburn
Hamrick and Rosa Lee Thomas Hamrick. He was retired after 20 years of
service with the US Air Force and was a member of Polkville Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert
Hamrick and Junior Hamrick and two sisters, Louise Wray and Bessie Goins.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Carolyn McMurry Hamrick; two sons,
Mark Hamrick and wife, Chris of Polkville and Jeff Hamrick and wife, Mayako
of Charlotte; three stepchildren, Scott Lankford and wife, Susan of
Dunnellon, Florida, Lisa Gainey and husband, Jerome of Gaffney and Rhonda
Lankford of Spindale; two grandchildren, Dustin Hamrick and wife Annie
Blanton Hamrick and Garrett Hamrick; five step grandchildren, Jason Lankford
and wife, Kellie, Jerrod Lankford, Christopher Beaver, Justin Beaver and
wife, Maddie, and Jennifer Gainey; two step-great grandchildren, Madison
Lankford and Mallory Sparks; and five sisters, Faye Mullinix, Mildred
Williams, Margaret Martin, Ellen Quinn and Hilda Elliott.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. Gideon Besson, Paula,
and Collette Fox for their care during this time.
Visitation: 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Saturday at Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston
Funeral Service: 3:00 PM, Sunday at Polkville Baptist Church, Polkville. The
body will be placed in the church thirty minutes before the service.
Officiating: Rev. Dustin Hamrick, Rev. Dale Byrd and Rev. Joe Edwards
Burial: Polkville Baptist Church Cemetery
