Ms. Azaree “Ree” Brown, 79, formerly of 2606 Elizabeth Ave. Shelby, NC departed this life on Monday, August 13, 2012 at White Oak Manor Nursing Home in Shelby after being confined to her home for most of her life.   She was born April 1, 1933 in Cherokee County, SC to the late Jake and Lillie McCluney Brown.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by nine brothers, James Brown, Harrison Brown, Jasper Brown, Luther Brown, Theodore Brown, Timothy Brown, Casper Brown, R.D. Brown and Oscar Brown and a special nephew, Donnie McCluney.

Left to cherish fond memories of her, a brother, Douglas Brown of Kings Mountain, NC; a niece, Virginia James (William) of Hickory, NC; a nephew, Roger Brown (Mary) of Shelby; two sisters-in-law, Irene Brown of Shelby and Vinnie Brown Pearson of Hickory and a number of additional nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

 Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 1:00 PM at S.T. Enloe Memorial Chapel with Rev. Randy Thurman officiating and Rev. Joe Gingles delivering words of comfort.  Burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:00 PM at the chapel and at other times at the home of her nephew, Roger Brown, 114 Gidney, St. Shelby.  Condolences can be expressed online at www.enloes.net.  Enloe Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
