Barbara Allen Dixon Elmore, 81, of 132 Shady Grove Road, Lawndale, passed
away Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Hospice at Wendover in Shelby.
She was born in Cleveland County, on April 20, 1932, to the late Ben Dixon
and Selma Cabaniss Dixon. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church and
retired from Cleveland Mills.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Ben
Cleve Elmore; sister, Rachel Towery; two brothers, Ben Dixon, Jr. and Dwight
Dixon.
She is survived by two sons, Steve Elmore and significant other Betsy
Cochran of Lawndale and Allan Elmore and friend Lisa Bradshaw of Lawndale;
daughter, Jane Elmore and significant other Randy Grant of Lawndale; three
brothers, Roy Dixon of Trinity, Howard Dixon of Shelby, and Boyd Dixon of
Shelby; sister, Millie Dixon of Merle's Inlet; seven grandchildren, Kathy
Jenkins, Tiffany Barbee and husband Chuck, Patrick Elmore and wife Lyn,
Heather Newton, Brooke Cherry, Ben Elmore, Luke Elmore; and six great
grandchildren, Tori Harvey, Cameron Barbee, Connor Barbee, Gavin Harmon,
Boone Elmore, and Stevielyn Elmore.
Private services will be held by the family.
