Barbara DeLozier Morehead, 87, passed away peacefully at Mariah Parham Hospital on Monday, November 21, 2022. She was surrounded by her
three daughters - Kathy Edwardson, Tina Hurdt, and Angie Edwards-Rash (Fred) at her passing. She is survived by two sisters - Helen Beaver
and Sarah Logan of Shelby, and one brother - Jim DeLozier of Fort Mill (Jackie).
Barbara was an awesome grandmother to Scott (Jana) and Zach Hurdt,
Jake and Hannah Edwardson, Elli Edwards, and Erica Rash. She lived to
spoil them and made sure to have a special bond with each of them
individually. She was also blessed with one great-granddaughter, Darcy Paige Hurdt, who would have been absolutely rotten if Barbara
had gotten the chance.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Fritz Morehead, Jr. who passed away in November of 2003. Barbara is now reunited with
him and we are sure it was worth the wait. Even though death and
sorrow were not part of God's original plan, He understands our pain
and we know He will sustain us. He loaned us great parents and we are
thankful to have had them in our lives as long as we did. Now they
are well and together again in His presence (and most likely already
talking about the grandchildren). That fact gives us great comfort.
Barbara loved music - LOVED music. It was a huge part of her life even in her last days.
Although your kind words on this site are enough, in lieu of flowers
the family asks that you consider a donation to your church's Music
Ministry or your favorite music organization in her memory. Funeral arrangements are
entrusted to Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.
