Barbara Eloise Yount "Bobbie" Rudisill

Barbara Eloise Yount "Bobbie" Rudisill, age 92 of Ed Rudisill Road, passed away Friday, April 23, 2021 at Atrium Health Cleveland.

She was born October 20, 1928 in Hickory, NC to the late O.V. and Dorothy Eckard Yount.

Bobbie was the Valedictorian of Hickory High class of 1945. She was also the Valedictorian of Lenoir-Rhyne University class of 1949; She and her husband, Edwin, were owners and operators of R&S Manufacturing and the Village Store in Cherryville. She was a very active member of St. John's Lutheran Church; being the first woman elected to serve on the church council. She also taught the ladies Sunday School class, sang in the choir and was a member of the women's circle group. She was a greeter with God's Work Our Hands - Bible Study. She also participated with the Archives of the History of St. John's Lutheran Church. She sewed numerous banners for the church and supplied thrivent money to fund the church food ministry. Bobbie and her husband Edwin were charter members of the Cherryville Historical Museum. She served as president and secretary of the Village Garden Club over many years. She was a past member of the Board of Trustees building committee, who oversaw the building of Gaston Memorial Hospital. Bobbie was very artistic and talented. She enjoyed sewing and loved flowers and gardening. In her 80's she started her business "Mother Natures Art" where she made and sold pressed flower pictures at local farmer's markets. Bobby was the epitome of a Christian lady. She will be remembered as a woman of service to her church, her family, and her community.

She was preceded in death by her husband, L. Edwin Rudisill, Sr.; grandson, Jay Beam; son-in-law, Click Dellinger; brother, Earl Yount; and sisters, Nina White, Margaret Corey, and Ruth Sigmon.

Survivors include her children, Dr. L. Edwin Rudisill, Jr. (Cathy) of Greenville, SC, Barbara Jones (Mike) of Cherryville, Alice Dellinger of Cherryville, Edwina Beam (Jim) of Lincolnton, and Diana Keck (David) of Mooresville; grandchildren, her special caregiver - Deana Jones, Steve Jones (Heather), Ashley Forbes (Scott), Chelsea Browder (Luke), Kim Harrill, Amy Dellinger, Trudie Homesley (Kelly), Ched Beam (Samantha), Katie Crocker (Clinton), Dave Keck (Nina), Charlotte Karriker (Kurt), Fran Patterson (Tim); great-grandchildren, Michael Jones, Jackson Forbes, Reid Forbes, Cole Harrill (Taylor), Jess Harrill (and their father, Johnny Harrill), Dayne Homesley, Allie Kay Homesley, Henderson Beam (fiancé, Libba Zimmerman), Sarah Beam, C.J. Crocker, Robert Keck, Rachel Keck, Rhodes Karriker, Jonathan Patterson, and Hunter Patterson. great-great granddaughter, Ashlynn Grace Harrill.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Carpenter-Porter Funeral and Cremation Services.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at St. John's Lutheran Church with Rev. Ben Kifer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
