Barbara French Selby, age 65 of New House Road went to be with her Lord on Sunday November 18, 2012 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. Born in Kanawka, West Virginia on February 2, 1947 she was the daughter of the late John and Grace Kelly Gray. Mrs. Selby was an amateur Ham Radio Operator and her call sign was KB4BPO. She was a member of Rehobeth United Methodist Church. When her health permitted she enjoyed gardening and working in the yard, She was the best wife, mother and grandmother and was a kind hearted person who was thankful for all that she had and had a forgiving nature. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a son, Robert Selby Jr.

Mrs. Selby is survived by her husband of 49 years, Robert Selby Sr.; two sons, David Selby and wife Jeanette of Washington, and Richard Selby and wife Tammy of TN; two daughters, Donna Dewell of Shelby, and Barbara Selby Jr. of Boiling Springs; two brothers, John Gray and Homer Gray both of MD.; and 18 grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday November 20, 2012 in the Chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Sean Turner officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Memorials can be made to the funeral home to offset funeral expenses.
