Barbara McDaniel Helms, 90, of 134 North Cherokee Ford Road, passed away on Friday, November 15th, 2024, at Atrium Health Cleveland.

Born in Shelby, NC, she was the widow of Robert Helms and the daughter of the late Joseph and Edna Thompson Cash. Barbara formerly worked in textiles and attended Nazareth Baptist Church.

Surviving Mrs. Helms are her two daughters, Sandra White (Roger) and Sherrie McDaniel Moore; four grandchildren: Stephania Williams (Rodney), Wendy Parris (Danny), Allen Moore, and Amy Moore Elder; nine great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank McDaniel; a son, Charles Leonard McDaniel; four sisters: Elward Long, Elanor Mitchell, Nell C. Denton, and Ruth C. Hamilton; and five brothers: J. D. Cash Jr., Paul Curtis Cash, Lloyd J. Cash, Harry E. Cash, and Leon D. Cash.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary. A graveside service will follow at 3:30 pm at Clingman Memorial Gardens with Rev. Phillip Martin officiating.

The family will be at their respective homes.
