Barbara Wright Hunter, age 67, died Monday, September 26, 2016 at Carolinas Healthcare Cleveland. Born on July 3, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Robert Lee and Gladys Mae Grant Wright. Barbara was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for a number of years. Barbara enjoyed reading, working puzzles, needlework, and gardening. In addition to her parents, Barbara is preceded in death by a sister, Robin Norman.

Barbara is survived by two sisters, Carolyn Wright-Dillard of Shelby and Judy Ledbetter and husband William of Kings Mountain; brother-in-law, Ray Norman of Elk Park; nieces and nephews, Rev. Charles Lee Childers and wife Michelle, Megan Jennings, Grant Norman, Tonya Hornbaker and husband Marty, and Michelle Cook; Special friend, Angela O'Daniel; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Ronell Owensby officiating. Burial will follow at New Camp Creek Baptist Church. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm in the sanctuary, and other times at the home of Judy and William Ledbetter.
