Barney Rodney Roberts, 82, of 1123 Mary's Grove Church Road, Kings Mountain, departed this life on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at his home.
He was born in Cleveland County to the late Ora Witworth Roberts and Rodney George Roberts.
Leaving to morn is his wife of 61 years, Shirley Carson Roberts; sons Barney Darnell (Kings Mtn.), Danny Roberts (Sylvia) Shelby, Randy Roberts (Charlotte), and daughter Audrey Tate (Dennis) Cherryville; one brother James Edward Roberts (Audrey) of Newark, New Jersey.
He is preceded in death by a grandson, Adrian Roberts (Demicka) Shelby. Grandchildren are Rodney Roberts (Rashieka) Greensboro, Rea'gon Hill Roberts and Ieesha Hill Roberts of Charlotte, Amber Tate Porter (Jerald) Winston Salem, Demetrius Tate of Cherryville; and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2pm Friday, April 3rd at Washington Missionary Baptist Church.
Visitation: 30 minutes prior to the funeral services
Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors.
