| Bernard James Maher, 75, of Roy Eaker Rd., died October 9, 2013 at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia. He was born in Wilkes Barre, PA on Sept. 29, 1938 a son of the late Bernard Joseph Maher and Helen Patricia McDonald-Ryan. Mr. Maher was retired general manager of Yellow Cab in Charlotte.
He is survived by his wife Lori Dawson Maher, a son Bernard Maher of Aston, PA, five daughters Colleen Fanelli, Exton, PA, Cathy Devine, Chadsford, PA, Beth Davis, Dover, DE, Patti Fox, Aston, PA, and Kim Maher of Cherryville, NC , eight grandchildren John Devine, Ashleigh Donovan, Joleen Fanelli, CJ Fanelli, Stephen Maher, Michael Donovan, Connor Davis and Kiera Davis, sisters Kelly(Mary Jo Maher)and Steve Goebal and Charlotte Burnette and Donald, brother Vaden Haynes and a special adopted son Craig S. Manoff.
A service of remembrance will be held Tuesday at 6:30 PM in the Blair Fraley Courtyard of St. John’s Lutheran Church with Dr. Eric Childers officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday at the home from 4-6 PM. Burial will be private.
