Bernie Anderson Hoyle
Bernie Anderson Hoyle of Shelby went to meet his Lord and Savior on April 12, 2014 at Kings Mountain Hospice. He was born May 24, 1925 in Rutherford County to the late Belo Andy and Lillie Florence Ross Hoyle.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Billy Hoyle, sisters Modene Landis and Ruth Kimbrell.

Bernie served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a member of Landmark Baptist church. Bernie was also a barber in Cleveland County for more than 50 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Nellie R. Hoyle, son Larry Hoyle & Nellie of Havre, Montana; daughters Carolyn Cash and Cindy Hudson & Pete all of Shelby; daughter Tami Grady of  Drexel; step-son Steve Whisnant of Ellenboro;  stepdaughter Carol McHenry of Forest City; brothers Herman & Robert Hoyle of Bostic; sisters Lillian Greene of Kings Mountain, Ruby Hutchins of Morganton, NC. Bernie also has 9 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 8 step-great grandchildren. 

His family will receive friends 5:00pm – 6:45 pm Monday at Landmark Baptist, Shelby, NC. 

Bernie’s funeral service will be held 7:00 p.m. Monday at Landmark Baptist, Shelby, NC. with Reverends Allen L. Davis, Larry Hoyle, Wally Hoyle officiating.

Interment will be held at a later date in the Western North Carolina State Veteran’s Cemetery, Black Mountain, NC.
