Bertha Sims Flynn, age 92, of Forest City, died Sunday, October 21 at Hospice House. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Lee and Iola Spurlin Sims. She was a retired weaver and a member of Southern Baptist Church.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Martha Hunt of Rutherfordton and Kay F. Ellis of Cornelius, NC; sister Margie Frady of Rutherfordton; brother Herman Sims of Rutherfordton; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ransom C. Flynn and her son, Jimmy Flynn.
Funeral services will be held 3 PM Wednesday, October 24 at Crowe’s Mortuary with Rev. John Perry and Rev. Jack Hansma officiating. Interment will follow in Southern Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until 3 PM prior to the service at Crowe’s Mortuary.
