Bessie Ree Harmon Davis, 83, of Coney Island Road, Union Mills, died on Tuesday, September 03, 2013 at SECU Hospice House of Rutherford County. A native of Rutherford County, she was born on July 29, 1930, a daughter of the late Hammie Wade and Emma Parris Harmon. She was a retired Nurse and member of State Line Baptist Church of Gaffney.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Dean Davis; one daughter, Sherry Hatcher; one brother, Bud Harmon; one sister, Jeraldine Phillips; one grandson, David Crotts.
She is survived by her son, Michael L. Davis and wife Christine of Largo, FL; one daughter, Sallie Conner and husband Michael of Union Mills; one brother, Wilson Harmon and wife Dorothy of Winston Salem; one sister, Rachel Phillips; her grandchildren, Shane Cline, Jeff Cline, Zoey Davis, Michelle Crotts, Dillon Conner, J.P. Conner, Codey Hatcher and Jesse Hatcher; ten great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 4:30pm on Saturday, September 07, 2013 at the A.C. McKinney Memorial Chapel with the Rev. John Godfrey officiating. Burial will be held at 12:00pm on Monday, September 09, 2013 at The Western North Carolina Veteran’s Cemetery of Black Mountain. Visitation will be held from 3:00pm-4:30pm on Saturday, September 07, 2013 at McKinney-Landreth & Carroll Funeral and Cremation Service.
