Betty Blackwell Fowler Owens

Blacksburg -- Betty Blackwell Fowler Owens, 78, of 640 Batchelor Drive, passed away Friday, February 19th, 2016, at her residence.

Born in Fingerville, she was the widow of J. W. Fowler and Paul David Owens and the daughter of the late Walter Blackwell and Emmie White Blackwell. Mrs. Owens retired as a Freezer Operator at Nestle' and was a member of Cherokee Falls Baptist Church.

Mrs. Owens is survived by two sons, Jimmy Fowler and Darrelle Fowler, both of Gaffney; two daughters, Rhonda Phillips of Rock HIll and Dianne Bradley of Gaffney; two brothers, Furman "Pete" Blackwell and Paul Blackwell, both of Gaffney; seven grandchildren, Tracy Pierce, Jason Bradley, Misty Phillips, Shane Phillips, Jeremy Teague, Charles Teague, and Penny Bailey; and 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Wyatt, her sister, Mary Scruggs, and her brothers, Winford Blackwell and Albert Blackwell.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 20th, 2016, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary 400 West Cherokee Street Blacksburg, South Carolina 29702. Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 21st, 2016 at 3:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Tim Knotts and Rev. Lucky Earls officiating. Private burial will take place at Mountain View Cemetery with family only. Austin Barnhill, Jason Bradley, Shane Phillips, Jerry Patterson, Chad Duncan, and Blake Hadden will serve as pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to Cherokee Falls Baptist Church Building Fund, 109 School Street, Blacksburg, SC 29702.

The family will be at the residence.
