Betty Carolyn Daggerhart Brown, of East Main St., died Jan. 17, 2015 at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia. She was born on Nov. 1, 1932 in Cleveland Co, a daughter of the late Robert Paul and Pearl Lorrene Blanton Daggerhart. Betty was a member of Anthony Grove Baptist Church, a homemaker, formerly employed at McDaniel Handimart, Gaston Schools as a bus driver and cafeteria worker.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Paul G. Brown in 1980, a daughter Teresa Diane Brown, and two brothers Jerry and Roy Daggerhart.

Survivors include her daughter Deborah Brown Tierney of Lenoir, two grandchildren Carolyn Nicole Tierney of Lenoir and Thomas Edward Tierney, Jr. of Conover, and two great grandchildren Rylie Jade Tierney and Emma Claire Tierney.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 4 PM at Carpenter's Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev Dennis Bean officiating with burial to follow in City Memorial cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday at the funeral home from 2:30-3:45 PM.
