Betty Delores Moss Hughes

Betty Delores Moss Hughes, age 89, of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on April 19, 2025.

A native of Kings Mountain, Betty was born on July 15, 1935, to the late Laura Jolly Moss and Forrest Evan Moss. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lewis Hughes Sr.; sisters, Mildred M. Whetstine and Virginia M. Gibson; and brothers, Solon Moss, Earl Moss, and Kenneth Moss.

She is survived by her sons, John Lewis Hughes Jr. and Jeff Hughes (Kimberly R. Hughes); grandchildren, Jesse Hughes and Amber Hughes; brother, Larry Moss; and sister, Sheila Moss Ledford.

Betty dedicated many years of service at the credit union at the Eaton Corporation and was a long-standing member of Temple Baptist Church. She will be remembered for her steady presence, devotion to family, and the kindness she extended to those around her.

A private funeral service and interment will be held by the family.
