Betty Jean Carroll Foster

Betty Jean Carroll Foster, 82, of 870 Jumping Branch Road, passed away on Saturday, May 11th, 2024, at Atrium Health Kings Mountain.

Born in Blacksburg, SC, she was the widow of Knox Winfred Foster Sr., to whom she was married for 56 years. She was the daughter of the late Irby Hemphill Carroll and Minnie Spurlin Carroll. Betty formerly worked in textiles and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. She loved her family and farming with her husband. She loved her cat, Massey. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister and will be greatly missed.

Surviving Mrs. Foster are her daughter, Sandra Ruff (Jason); her grandson, Matthew Ruff (Katlynn); her granddaughter, Savannah Ray; her great-granddaughter, Maisie Ruff; her brother, Ray Carroll (Eva); and her special niece, Mary Ann Reyes.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Foster was preceded in death by her son, Knox Winfred Foster, Jr., and her infant son; her siblings, Wilma Deal, Ola Mae Goforth, Mary Francis Farris, Irvin Eugene Carroll and Cleotis Carroll.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 16, 2024, from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary, 400 West Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, SC. Funeral services will immediately follow in the Gordon Mortuary Chapel at 3:00 pm with Rev. Vernon Craig officiating. Interment will be at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
