Ms. Betty Jewel Washburn, 76, of Mark Drive, passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2010. Services were held at the Chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home. Burial followed in Sunset Cemetery.

Mrs. Washburn was preceded in death by her parents John and Jewel Hicks Washburn; brothers, John Washburn, Jr., Bob Washburn and Dale Washburn; sisters, Rachel W. Bridges and Ann W. Fincher and nephews.

She is survived by her sister, Pat W. Harrison and husband Bob of Marietta, GA; one brother, Flay Washburn and wife Martha of Shelby; sister-in-laws, LaLene Washburn of Boiling Springs and Trudy Washburn of Cherryville and brother-in-law, Harold “Frosty” Bridges of Shelby and many loving nieces and nephews.
