Blacksburg -- Betty Jones Bennett, 77, of 166 Sherrill Drive, passed away Tuesday, January 6th, 2015, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born in Blacksburg, she was the widow of Murphy Bennett and the daughter of the late Charlie Jones and Betty Mae Koon Jones. Mrs. Bennett retired from textiles and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Surviving Mrs. Bennett are three sons, Mark Bennett of Jefferson City, TN, Keith Bennett of Blacksburg, and Eric Bennett of Blacksburg; one daughter, Freida London of Gaffney; a step-son, Craig Bennett, of Salisbury, NC; one step-daughter, Terry Honeycutt, of Mooresville, NC; two sisters, Jane Broome of Greenwood and Lucy Harrison of Blacksburg; twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Bennett was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank, Walter, and Tab Jones, and one sister, Edna Gardner.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 9th, 2015, from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary 400 West Cherokee Street Blacksburg, SC 29702. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00 pm with Rev. Eddie Bolin officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
