Ms. Betty Kathrine Ford Benton, age 66, of 413 Flint Hill Rd., left to be with the Lord and loved ones gone on before her on September 28, 2013, at her residence in Cherryville. Born in Cleveland County on March 24, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Otto Ford and Annie Jeanette Self. Betty dedicated her talents to furthering the lives and education of her students at Cherryville Head Start for many years until her retirement. She was a loving caregiver to her mother.
She is survived by two sons, Kevin Benton (Leanne) of Grover and Keith Benton (Joanna Banks) of Ronks, PA; two brothers, Wayne Lovelace (Carol) of Lattimore, and Bill Lovelace (Katherine) of Lawndale; four grandchildren, Justin, Brittani, Quinton, and Nicholas; niece, Donna Lovelace of Shelby; nephew, Jeff Lovelace of Simpsonville, SC; and special friends, Alice and Tarpie Harrelson, Wanda Oats, and Kim Atkins.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Carpenter’s Funeral & Cremation Services will the Rev. Leonard Bumgardner officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 2:45 prior to the service at the funeral home.
