Betty Ruth Byrum Moss

Betty Ruth Byrum Moss, 86, of 111 South Congress Street, but formerly of Blacksburg, passed away Friday, February 20th, 2015, at Piedmont Medical Center.

Born in Blacksburg, she was the widow of Otis E. Moss and the daughter of the late George Dewey Byrum and Vangie Pearl Blanton Byrum. Mrs. Moss retired from sales and was a member of Broad River Baptist Church. She was also a 1945 graduate of Blacksburg High School and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Surviving Mrs. Moss are two sons, Mickey Moss and wife, Cathy, of Blacksburg and Todd Moss and wife, Marie, of Clover; one brother, Bill Byrum, of Oxford, GA; four grandchildren, Mike Moss of Turbeville, SC, Matt Moss of Murrells Inlet, SC, Riley Moss of Clover, SC, and Tristan Moss of Clover; and four great-grandchildren, Callie Moss, Jake Moss, Turner Moss, and Dawson Moss.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 22nd, 2015, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary 400 West Cherokee Street Blacksburg, SC 29702. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 23rd, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Broad River Baptist Church 420 West Cherokee Street Blacksburg, South Carolina 29702 with Rev. Dennis Willoughby, Rev. Suzanne Walker, and Mr. Steve Byrum officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Kenny Byrum, Steve Byrum, Mark Byrum, Jimmy Byrum, Mike Moss, and Matt Moss will serve as pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to the Broad River Baptist Church Building Fund, 419 West Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, SC 29702
