Betty Ruth Hardin
Betty Ruth Hardin, daughter of the late Thomas F. and Estie Emily Jane Self Moss of Blacksburg, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, March 4, 2021, surrounded by her children.
She was the widow of Dean E. Hardin. Up until her passing, she took so much pride in her appearance at all times as she was able. She loved shopping and staying on the go. Mrs. Hardin devoted her life to loving and caring for her children. She was also very close and loved her caregivers, Wanda Ford and Willie Black Huskey.
She was loved greatly by her family which include children, Janet Leagon and husband Roger, and Randy Patterson and wife Cindy. Her grandchildren are Johnathan Gettys and wife, Melanie of Blacksburg, Jeremy Gettys and wife, Ashley of Greer, SC and Jeffrey Gettys of Gaffney. Great grandchildren are Liam and McKinley Leagon, Blacksburg, Charleston "Charlie" Cousins, Greenwood, SC, Chase Gettys and Brandon Gettys both of Gaffney.
As well as her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers; Thurmon Moss of Kings Mountain, NC, JD Moss, Thomas Moss, Sr., and James Nesbitt Moss of Blacksburg, and sisters; Cleo Head of Chesnee, Clara Butler of Gaffney, Leona Butler, Alma Moss, and Margaret Upchurch of Blacksburg.
The family will receive friends, Sunday, March 7, 2021, 2:00-3:00pm at Nazareth Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 3:00pm with Dr. Don McCutcheons and Dr. Jamie Billings officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Paran Baptist Church Cemetery. At other times they will be at the daughters home, 581 Leagon Drive. Blacksburg.
Pallbearers serving are Ronnie Upchurch, Jeff Gettys, Chase Gettys, Brandon Gettys, Steve Turner, and Charlie Moss. Honorary pallbearers are Linda Dover and Trudy Martin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Nazareth Baptist Church, Ninety Nine Island Road, Blacksburg, SC 29702.
