Betty Ward Lowery, age 83, of Henrietta, NC, died Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at her residence.
Betty was born April 12, 1930 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Monroe Ward and Pansy Raye Ward. She was a homemaker who enjoyed working puzzles, watching Atlanta Braves baseball and cooking delicious food for her family. She was of the Baptist Faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Vicki Lowery and three sisters, Merle Lane, Almeta Wells and Lois Grant.
Survivors include her husband of sixty-six years, Ralph “Bud” Lowery; two daughters, Karen Lowery of Morganton and Lisa Ballesteros and husband, Joe of Henrietta; son, Joey Lowery and wife, Sherry of Forest City. She is also survived by three grandsons, Brent Lowery and wife, Tiffany, Trey Ballesteros and Corey Ballesteros; granddaughter, Amanda Huffstickler and husband, Chad; three great grandsons, Mason Huffstickler, Hunter Lowery and Ty Lowery.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Scott Huffman and Reverend Bob Philbeck officiating. Interment will follow in Caroleen-Avondale-Henrietta Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
