Bible Study: Grow More and More and More
When you read the title, what went through your mind? If you had the feeling that you have not moved in the presence of the Lord in a long, long time; what’s hindering you? Do your conversations bring in the Lord’s Name and some praise for him? Never has a person backslid praising the Lord for what he has done. I went to church last Sunday. I know that the Lord is pleased with me. Then as Paul, the Gospel writer says, he was a bragging Pharisee. Do you fit the shoe? What did you pray for while you were there? Did you say “Lord have mercy on me a sinner”? Can you name the last sin you did to the Lord? If you can not then don’t bother him, he is to busy with those who pray from the heart. Christianity is a heart felt love that overwhelms it’s adversary the devil. When you are right with your spiritual Father, He wants to draw you closer and closer to him. One day He will say “Come on Home”, that is where you ought to be. Are you living the life that David said “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever”? You can’t get close enough to your Lord until you can have that assurance. Or do you say “get behind me satan, man can not live by bread alone”? Take another step closer. Whisper a gentle believing prayer and tell the Lord from the heart that you love him. Can you promise him that for ever and ever? Then you are growing in the presence of the Lord. The next time you come in  contact with the Lord, remember He is always ready to hear something from you. How about praise the Lord right now. He is waiting. Don’t just wait for others to hear you say it. Prophets of old would get on the highest mountain they could find and say I love you God, and sometimes they would get an answer if they did not, sometimes they would smite the chest and the answer would come. If you can get it in your mind that today both Jesus and God are real, in comes faith and prayers will be answered.
