Bible Study: Holy, Holy, Holy
I’ve noticed how quiet churches are compared to churches when I was growing up. Quite a few of them don’t ever have an alter call. Why have an alter call when we are already in church? It is a great privilege of your Master, God. You are breathing on his air and walking with his air. The lungs he gave you must keep you alive for you to choose who you want to be your God. Notice who is in charge of the soul, and it was breathed into you as a gift that will never die. You choose where you want to go.
The Lord’s grace covers you until you become accountable for your sins. This is measured to you according to what age and how your were raised. If your were in a good gospel preaching church, you would probably reach that age of accountability quicker. Just imagine Jesus is standing before you talking to you and you can really feel the difference. Jesus wants you to feel his presence near or in you. Not until his presence is in you can you come alive for what happened that day on the cross. Being emotional is not the same, which you can get from a song. It is good but not the real thing. The real thing comes out when you spring to your feet and say “I want to testify” and the speaker says go right ahead, you testify and the glories of the Lord falls on the congregation. The preacher lets the Lord take over if he is a God-called preacher. This does not happen in many churches where it embraces the preacher, if it does, he gets lost in the shuffle. I saw this come down one night and the pastor just did not know what to do, so he says “let’s dismiss the congregation and the others can still get a blessing”. The church changed into a praying congregation and a big change came over the congregation and the preacher. Change came when the Lord took over.
