Bible Study: How Do You Get To Know A Living God?
Did you ever wonder how you get to know a living God? Are you now wondering what kind of question that is?  Did you not know that you are limited as to how? I have traveled to five foreign countries and the distance was never shortened.  As I was thinking about that, it suddenly came to me.  No one has ever told me how to really know a true and living God. I have always just taken it for granted.
That mountain that we read of people worshipping, they saw it.  The same is true for the lion and any other false idols.  Now I am told to worship a living God that I can’t see.  So, let’s turn to God’s Word to find out how to worship Him.  In John 14:6, Jesus says to Thomas, “I am the way the truth and the life.  No man cometh unto the Father but by me”.  Then Jesus tells it all.  Verse 7 says, “If ye had known me, ye should have known my father also; and from henceforth ye know him and have seen him”.
Now, let’s move up to where we are today.  Any time you feel the Spirit of a true and living Savior, you feel the spirit of God.  How did this come to pass?  Jesus bore the cross but only with His Father’s permission.  Because he bore the cross, He is our intercessor with God, the Father.  We get to know a Living God by faith in Jesus Christ as our Savior.  We do not have to see Him, just feel His spirit and the cleansing effect it has on our innermost being.  He touches the soul of the one who believes to the point of acceptance and is willing to give their life to Him.
Jesus came to earth to die on that old rugged cross for the sins of the world, past present and future.  While He was here, He taught and blessed and performed miracles, but His main purpose was to be a pure and unblemished sacrifice for our sins which is something we could have never done on our own.  So, how do you get to know a living God?  By trusting in His Son, Jesus Christ, who has defeated death, hell and the grave and now sits at the right hand of the Father.  Know the living Savior who rose from the grave and you will know the living God.
