Bible Study: Where Is My Power?
After we are reborn and we begin to pray to our Savior, it is natural to feel that at times He does not hear our prayers. I remember hearing the statement, “Nothing ever happens when I pray.” I say yes, the Lord hears every prayer that his children pray. He appoints an angel over you to listen and to carry out commands as needed. Acts is where we learn about  power and strength. Acts 1:8 says, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” Now don’t be a person who says, Jesus only said that to them. We are not in religion, where the patient does all the loving. No, we are in a love feast, where our Savior loves us. Even if we never look His way, He loves us.  Notice what He says about the Holy Ghost, His Risen Spirit. That is why older preachers would say, don’t just be satisfied in redemption. Go all the way with the Lord and receive all that He has for you. Both Methodists and Baptists preached it that way, never knowing what a college was and they really got what they went after. I wanted to name some who were healed, but I can not, because age has taken its toll. I will mention one lady whose face on one side, was almost gone. Three preachers prayed. When I saw her, I looked at the side of her face. It was as normal as any person. Don’t forget the cross did not destroy, it only multiplied love and love builds strength. Don’t forget that a good Bible says in James 4:17, “Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.” This mostly applies to those who always say let someone else do it. Jesus did go back to Heaven and He is coming back. Look toward the east each morning, as thousands do and that day will finally show up some time. The word is, be ye ready, because no one knows when Jesus will come back. Only God knows. The chapter of Matthew tells us the signs of the times and of Jesus coming. Matthew 24:36-42 says, “But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. Read the entire chapter.
