Cherryville - Mr. Bill J. Short, Sr., 76, passed away on Friday, October 2,
2015 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.

Bill was born on January 6, 1939, in Gaston County, NC. He was a son of the
late Roland Short and Bessie Trammell Short. Bill was retired as a
dockworker from Carolina Freight Carriers Corporation in Cherryville after
31 years of service. He was a member of the Cherryville Church of God.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sons, Terry and
Bryan Short.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Frankie Iler Short of the home; a
son Billy Short and wife Vicki of Clearwater, Florida; a daughter, Tammy
Isaacs and husband Tim of Gastonia; four grandchildren, Amberly Isaacs,
Landon Isaacs, Tanner Short and Patrick Short; a brother Lloyd Short of
Cherryville and four sisters; Mamie Mosteller of Lincolnton; Ruth Pruitt of
Cherryville; Frances Neal of Crouse and Shirley Pruitt of Lincolnton.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 from 12:45 to 1:45PM at the
Cherryville Church of God and at other times the family will be at the home.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 2:00PM at the
Cherryville Church of God with the Revs. Don Capell and Ron Lackey
officiating.

Burial will be at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in
Lincolnton.
