Billie Hawkins Bridges
Billie Hawkins Bridges, 83, of Lake Houser Road, Mooresboro, died on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at SECU Hospice House of Rutherford County. A native of Cumberland County, she was born on May 29, 1931, a daughter of the late Ethel Weaver Hawkins and Gard Baxter Hawkins. She was a Lab Technician and was retired from Cone Mills Corporation, Cliffside Plant. She was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church of Mooresboro, the Monday Morning Breakfast Group, the Sunshine Club and started a First Wednesday of the Month Group for the Boiling Springs High School Class of 1950. She was also an avid UNC Tarheel and Atlanta Braves Fan and loved her flowers and gardening.
 
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Claude L. Bridges; one brother, G.B. Hawkins; one grandson, Jason Kesterson. She is survived by one daughter, Vickie Kesterson of Cliffside; one son, Greg Bridges of the home; one sister, Grace H. Wellman of Shelby; one grandson, Travis Kesterson and wife Heather.
 
A Celebration of Mrs. Bridges’s Life will be held at 2:30pm on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church with the Rev. Bobby Gettys officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00pm-2:15pm on Tuesday in the church sanctuary.
