Blacksburg -- Billy Don Yelton Sr., 87, of 131 Old Chester Road, passed away Saturday, August 18th, 2018, at Carolinas Healthcare System - Cleveland.

Born in Blacksburg, he was the husband of Lois Boheler Yelton and the son of the late June Baxter Yelton and Phenelia Dover Yelton. Mr. Yelton worked in sales for 17 years at Sears and he worked as internal security for Racal Milgo for 14 years before his retirement. He was an ordained deacon in the Baptist church and he served as choir director for several churches in Florida. Mr. Yelton was also a lifetime member of the Buffalo Lodge #202 AFM.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Yelton is survived by two sons, Billy Don Yelton Jr and Stuart Yelton; one daughter, Vickie Yelton Hodge; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Frances Wilkerson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, and several brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 24th, 2018, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Gordon Mortuary in Blacksburg.
