Mr. Hawkins served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Nowlin Hawkins; and his mother, Lola Mae Sailors Hawkins.

He is survived by 3 sons, Billy Gene Hawkins, Jr. and David Wayne Hawkins, all of Mooresboro and Bobby Dean Hawkins and wife Leslie of Kings Mountain; 6 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
