Billy Lee Whitaker, age 79, a resident of 205 Edel Street, Kings Mountain, NC, died Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, Spartanburg, SC. Born in Cleveland County, NC, son of the late Walter Whitaker and Margaret Carpenter Whitaker. He was husband of 54 years to the late Shirley Whitaker and was also preceded in death by sister, Peggy Brooks and brother Bobby Whitaker. He was a longtime truck driver and mechanic and last worked for W&B Trucking, retiring with over 50 years of experience. He was a faithful member of Cherokee Falls Baptist Church and served in the NC National Guard. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather who was a wonderful provider for his family.

6 Great Grandchildren: Dalton Smith, Joseph Whitaker, Declan Powell, Kya Jones, Kayden Jones, Andrew Whitaker.
