Mr. William “Bill” Gary Poteat, 70, of Kings Mountain, NC passed away Friday, October 22, 2010. Services were held at Zoar Baptist Church, Shelby, NC. 

Mr. Poteat served our country in the U.S. Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Arvie Poteat; and infant sister, Toni Poteat.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ruth Nowlin Poteat; 2 daughters, Beth Bradley and husband Gary, and Nina Wells and husband Steve, all of Shelby; 1 son, Mark Poteat and wife Laura of Fuquay-Varina; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Olene Griffin of Morganton; 1 brother, Tommy Poteat and wife Ann of Seneca, SC; and his dog and faithful hunting companion, Ammo.
