Billy Sellers Howell, age 88 died Tuesday June 23, 2015 at Peak Resources in Shelby. Born in Lincoln County on January 20, 1927, he was the son of the late Charles V. and Julia Sellers Howell. Billy was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and was the owner of Carolina Masonry for over 30 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather and a hard worker and provider. In addition to his parents, Billy is preceded in death by his first wife, Claire Bivens Howell; a daughter, Barbara Mayes; and nine brothers and sisters.

Billy is survived by his wife of 60 years, Wilhelmina Jones Howell; a daughter, Diane Nestlerode and husband Tommy of Shelby; four grandchildren, Robbie Nestlerode and wife Shannon; Kelli Reinhardt and husband Bradley; Karen Mayes, and Matthew Mayes; and three great grandchildren, Cheyenne Nestlerode, Toby Nestlerode, and Dylan Reinhardt.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 26 2015 at 11:00 am at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with Rev. Sylvia Wilhelm, Rev. Nick Elliott, Rev. Hayward Morrison officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 25, 2015 from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory.
