Bishop Edward Junior Parsons

Bishop Edward Junior Parsons, 61, of 1003 Fallston Rd. Shelby, NC departed this life on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby.  He was born on February 27, 1952 in Boomer, NC.

Bishop Parsons attended Taylorsville High School in Taylorsville, NC.  He was a licensed and ordained as a Minister of the Gospel in 1975 at Thankful Baptist Church in Boomer NC.  He continued his education at Creamer Religious and Educational Enterprise where he received a Bachelor of Theology, Shaw University where he received a Master of Sacred Theology, Emmanuel Baptist University where he received a Master of Arts in Theology and a Doctorate of Divinity, and Carolina University of Theology where he received a Doctorate of Christian Counselling Psychology.  

Bishop Parsons was a soul winner and dedicated his entire life to preaching the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.  His life serves as a living testament of God’s grace and deliverance.  Bishop Parsons’ desire to minister and profound leadership will be an eternal shrine for all that he came in contact. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward A.Y. Parsons and his sister, Merlyn Parsons.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Parsons; his sons and their spouses, Eric and Amy Parsons and their children Erica and Sascha from Shelby NC; Driko and Christina Parsons and their children Alicia, Major, Gunner and Elizabeth from Parris Island, SC; his mother, Mary Bell Moore of Taylorsville, NC; brothers and their spouses, Jeris and Karen Parsons; Thomas Ferguson; and Ivan and Terry Parsons; sisters and their spouses, Gloria and Chris Hendrix; Edith and Vernon Odom and Sherry Parsons; special friends of the family, Mother Beatrice Martin, Sarah Sims, Catherin Littlejohn and John Nappier and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Faith Baptist Church 2738 S. Post Rd., Shelby with Pastor Barry Goodman officiating. Burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at the church on Saturday.   Condolences can be expressed online at www.enloes.net.  The family would thank Dr. J.
