Cherryville - Mrs. Blanche H. Stroupe, 93, formerly of S. Elm Street, passed
away on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Cleveland Pines in Shelby.

Mrs. Stroupe was born in Cleveland County, NC on January 29, 1922 a daughter
of the late Wiley North Harrelson and Pearl Jane Harmon Harrelson. She
worked as an inner line clerk for Carolina Freight Carriers Corporation for
18 years and also worked as a sales clerk for Belk Matthews in Cherryville.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cherryville and the Wendy
Scism Sunday School class. Mrs. Stroupe was also a longtime member of
Cherryville Chapter #156 Order of the Eastern Star where she was a Past
Worthy Matron and served as organist for many years.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Benjamin
C. Stroupe; two sisters; six brothers; and a step son Don Stroupe.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Bob Beam and Rexanne of
Fallston; a step son, Bengy Stroupe and wife Barbara of Cherryville; three
step daughters, Patricia Whitaker and husband Ron of Cherryville; Dorothy
Patrick and husband Carl of Shelby; and Mary O'Malley of Marietta, SC; a
grandson, Robert Michael Beam and wife Angela of Cherryville; two great
grandchildren and also several step grandchildren and great grandchildren,
neices and nephews.

Visitation will be on Monday, March 2, 2015 from 9:45 to 10:45AM at First
Baptist Church.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, March 2, 2015 at First
Baptist Church of Cherryville with Dr. Vince Hefner, Rev. David Day and
Rev. Perry Holleman officiating.

Burial will be at Rose Hill Memorial Park in Fallston with Eastern Star
graveside rites.

Memorials may be to First Baptist Church, Christian Outreach Center, 301 E.
First St. Cherryville, NC 28021.
