Mrs. Blanche Waldrup Blackwood, 79, of  111 Harrilson Rd., Cherryville, NC, formerly of E. Academy Street, passed away, Sunday, May 23, 2010. Graveside Services was held in City Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Blackwood was preceded in death by her husband, Harold B. “Dag” Blackwood; and her parents, Charlie Waldrup and Olivia Lear Gore.

She is survived by 2 sons, Mike Blackwood of Cherryville, and Scott Blackwood and wife Amber of Kings Mountain; 1 daughter, Pat Blackwood Bell of Cherryville; 5 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
