Bob Jasper Earls
Bob Jasper Earls, 86,  684 Batchelor Dr.,  Blacksburg, SC,  went home to be with his Heavenly Father February 6, 2013,  at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, Spartanburg, SC.  He is the husband of Marlene Moss Earls of the home and was first married to the late Ruby Moss Earls.  Born in York, SC, he is a son of the late Frank D. and Mary Eaker Earls.  
 
He was a  veteran of the Army Air Corp serving during  WWII and  also served in the Merchant Marines.  He retired from Celanese after 32 years of service.  A faithful member of Cherokee Falls Baptist Church,  he has served as a Sunday School Teacher and a Deacon.  He was currently serving on the Forestry Board and was  a member of Buffalo  Lodge #202.
 
In addition to his wife, Marlene,  he is survived by his granddaughter,  Ruby Jean Norman and two great-grandsons,  Chase Dover and Austin Dover all of Blacksburg.   Brothers - Horace Earls of Union, SC, and  Floyd Earls of Havre de Grace, Md.   Daughters -  Myra Patterson Upchurch and husband, Eddie,  Karen Patterson McDaniel and husband,  Tracy, and   Tammy Patterson Kale  and husband,  Butch,  all of Blacksburg.  Grandchildren -  Chris Upchurch,  Jennifer Painter, Jordan McDaniel,  Hunter McDaniel,  Alyssa Kale, Caitlyn Kale, and Taylor Kale; and great- grandchildren - Logan Swanlund and Parker Alexander.  In addition to his first wife and his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter,  Rhonda Earls Porter;  four brothers - Johnnie Earls, Howard Earls,  Boyd Earls and Belton Earls; and his sister, Vera Earls Patterson.
 
The family will receive friends Saturday from 1-3:00 PM at Cherokee Falls Baptist Church.  A Celebration Of Life Service will begin at 3:00 PM, with  Revs. Lucky Earls, Eddie Bolin and Tim Knotts officiating.  Entombment will follow at Clingman Memorial Gardens.  At other times, they will be at the home.
 
Pallbearers serving are Hunter McDaniel, Chris Upchurch, Brian Tindall, Michael Painter, Jason McCraw and Jeff Broome.
