Bobby Dean Fortenberry

Bobby Dean Fortenberry age 83 formerly of White Oak Manor of Shelby, died Sunday March 6, 2016 at Carolina's Continue Care in Kings Mountain. Born in Cleveland County on April 10, 1932 he was the son of the late John and Ruby Fortenberry. Bobby served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He served on the Cleveland County Sherriff Department for 23 years. In addition to his parents, Bobby is preceded in death by his wife Edna Camp Fortenberry and three step sons, Carl Bell, Roger Bell and Don Bell.

Bobby is survived by a son, Lee Fortenberry and wife Pam of Shelby; two sisters, Jean McMurry of Mt. Holly and Barbara Smith of Lattimore; a brother, Carroll Fortenberry and wife Sherri of Shelby; grandson, John Fortenberry and wife Nikki of Morganton; and a great grandson, Nathan Fortenberry.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday March 8, 2016 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 10:00 am until 11:00 am.

Memorials can be made to the charity of one's choice.
