SHELBY- Bobby Gene Bridges, 78, passed away Wednesday December 20, 2017 at the VA Hospital in Durham. He was born April 8, 1939 in Cleveland County, son of the late D.C. and Georgia Etta Tessneer Bridges. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Guy Bridges and JZ Bridges; six sisters, Joyce London, Donnis Melton, Irene Melton, Betty Black, Frances Bland, and Wraye O'Shields.

SURVIVORS: Left to cherish his memories is his wife of 57 years, Brenda McSwain Bridges of the home; one son, Kevin Bridges and wife Amy of Shelby; two daughters, Kelly Collum and husband Jeff of Boiling Springs, and Kristi Bridges Sparks also of Boiling Springs; four sisters, Jewell Padgett, Grace Blanton, Dorothy Jolley, and Reba Shirlen; four grandchildren, Ashton Willis, Madison Bridges, Isaac Bridges, and Kinley Sparks; two great grandchildren, Preston Dayberry and Killian Willis; a very special niece and nephew, Rita and Sam Bridges.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends after the funeral service on Saturday until 1pm at the funeral home.

SERVICES: A funeral service will be held Saturday December 23, 2017 at 11: am in the chapel of Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside.
