| Mr. Bobby Gene Ledford, age 78, of Shelby, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Hospice of Cleveland County at Wendover. A native of Cleveland County, he is the son of the late Thurman B. Ledford and Bertha Waters Ledford. Mr. Ledford loved to fly and work with his hands. He was a great taxidermist and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He had worked for the Department of Transportation as prison guard until his retirement. He was a member of Lily Baptist Church and a member of Cleveland Masonic Lodge #202.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dennis Ledford and Willie Dean Ledford; one sister, Shirley Hale.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Louise H. Ledford of the home; one son, Keith Ledford and wife Brigitte of Shelby; one sister, Elizabeth Lovelace of Shelby; two brothers, Dwight Ledford of Shelby and James Ledford of GA.
Visitation: Wednesday, September 4, 2013 from 1:00 to 2:00pm at Cleveland Funeral Services.
Funeral Services: Wednesday, 2:00 pm at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel.
Burial: Cleveland Memorial Park
