Grover, North Carolina -- Mr. Bobby Gene Martin Sr., 80, of 151 Stonehaven Drive, passed away on June 2, 2019, at Atrium Health Cleveland.

Born in Hickory Grove, he was the husband of Bernice Sue Martin and the son of the late Mike Martin and Essie Martin McGuiness. Bobby previously worked in textiles and was a member of Holiness Christian Mission.

Surviving Mr. Martin are his wife, Bernice Sue Martin; two sons, Bobby Jr., (Debbie) of Kings Mountain, and Johnny Michael Martin (Patricia) of Gastonia; three daughters, Angela Mayberry (Troy) of Grover, Symantha Jones (Jimbo) of Ohio, and Tammy Putman (John T.) of Grover; one sister-in-law, Connie Burgess; 18 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren on-the-way.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, David, Walter, and Ed and his sisters, Louise, Estelle, Lib, and Lucille.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, from 6:00-7:30 pm at Gordon Mortuary, 400 West Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, SC. Funeral services will he held on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 2:00 at Gordon Mortuary with Revs. Glenda Cook and Sherry Owens officiating. Interment will follow at Clingman Memorial Gardens. Jordan Moore, Gage Moore, David Gann, Adam Jackson, William Martin, and Josh Martin will serve as pallbearers.
