Bobby Gene Truelove Sr.  age 50 died Thursday March 20, 2014 surrounded by his family at home, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on April 17, 1963 in Cleveland County he was the son of Bertha Lovelace Truelove of Grover and the late George William Truelove. Bobby was a member of Grace Covenant Church of God. He formerly worked in maintenance at Hallelujah Acres and formerly was the sound man for the band Crimson Rose. Bobby watched NASCAR and was a dedicated Earnhardt fan. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and uncle. In addition to his father, Bobby is preceded in death by a sister, Diane Truelove.

In addition to his mother, Bobby is survived by his wife of 15 years, Kimberly Staton Truelove; two sons, Bobby Truelove Jr., of Earl and Phillip Truelove; of Shelby; a daughter, Libby Truelove of Shelby; a stepson, Gunnery Sergeant Christopher Greene and wife Melissa of Anderson SC; a stepdaughter, Cheryl Phillips and husband Sergeant  Christopher Phillips of Fort Riley KS; a brother, David Truelove of Shelby; two sisters, Wanda Fisher and husband Kenneth of Shelby, and Joyce Scott and husband Brandon of Asheboro; fourteen grandchildren, Megan, Pamela, Leighanne, Dustin, and Madison Truelove, Ricky Byers Jr., Ray, Matt, Alexandria, and Tiffany-Amber Greene, Kristin, Kayla, Chloe, and Abigail Phillips; Mutual niece, Kerrie Staton and numerous other nieces and nephews, aunts,uncles, and cousins.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, March  23,  2014 at 2:00pm at Maranatha Baptist Church, 2511 Old Spartanburg Rd, East Flat Rock, NC 28726 with Rev. Mickey Pruitt officiating.  Burial will follow in the Beddingfield Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00pm until 9:00pm on Saturday March 22, 2014 at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory.
