Bobby Poston

Bobby Poston, 82, died Sunday, April 26, 2015, at his home. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Summie and Minnie Connor Poston. Bobby served in the Air Force, and was a member of First Baptist Church. He taught elementary school for six years as well as serving as a baseball coach. He started teaching at Cleveland Tech from the start of its establishment, later retiring after more than 20 years of service. He was a proud Eagle Scout recipient, along with his four older brothers.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four brothers, C.B., Dr. Gene, Carl, and Ben Poston.

SURVIVED: He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Janice Harrill Poston, of the home; sons, Phillip Poston and wife Rhonda, and Andrew Poston and wife April; sisters, Annie Sisk, and Dot Bridges and husband Forrest; granddaughters, Lexi and Kira Poston, all of Shelby; sister-in-laws, Nancy Poston of Boiling Springs, Pat Poston of Shelby, Juanita Poston of Jacksonville, NC; Ruby Hughes and husband Carl of Shelby; brother-in-law, Howard Harrill and wife Marie of Cherryville; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL SERVICES: Wednesday, 2p.m., at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Wednesday, 12:30-2p.m., at the funeral home.

BURIAL: Will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park Mausoleum with military honor's
