Bobby Ray Bumgarner, 80, of Lincolnton Hwy., died March 5, 2015 at the Robin Johnson House, Dallas, NC. He was born on Dec. 26, 1934 in Caldwell Co., a son of the late George and Ola Seate Bumgarner.

Bobby was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Dallas, and a retired longline driver for Carolina Freight Carriers with forty one years of service. He was also a member of the Cherryville Country Club and was an avid golfer.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by brothers Leroy, Donald, Stanley, Lloyd, and Merle Bumgarner, and a sister Jeanette Bumgarner.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years Betty Costner Bumgarner, children Rick Bumgarner and wife Jennifer of Nashville, TN and Regina Bumgarner of Cramerton, two grandchildren Colin and Colby Bumgarner, a sister Peggy McSwain and husband Sherrill, of Cherryville, and a brother Olin Bumgarner and wife Kay of Cherryville.

A memorial service will be held Sunday March 8, 2015 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at 3 Pm with Pastor Jonathan Schnibben officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends Saturday at Carpenter's Funeral and Cremation from 6-8 PM and at other times at the home.
